Glass-fiber Reinforced Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol

Glass-fiber PETG blends short glass fibers into a PETG matrix, dramatically increasing stiffness and dimensional stability while retaining the chemical resistance of standard PETG. The added rigidity makes it ideal for structural brackets, jigs, and fixtures that must hold tight tolerances under load.

  • Use a hardened-steel or ruby-tipped nozzle — glass fibers will quickly wear through brass nozzles.
  • Increase nozzle diameter to 0.5 mm or larger to reduce clogging risk from fiber bundles.
  • Print at moderate speeds (30-40 mm/s) to maintain consistent extrusion with the higher-viscosity composite melt.
  • Reduce retraction distance to 1-3 mm to avoid grinding the stiffer filament in the extruder.
  • Apply a thin layer of glue stick on PEI to improve adhesion and protect the build surface from glass-fiber abrasion.
