Rainbow PLA
BeginnerColor-Transitioning Polylactic Acid
A multi-color PLA filament that gradually transitions through a spectrum of colors along the length of the spool. Rainbow PLA uses co-extrusion or inline dyeing to create smooth color gradients without any manual filament swaps. The color cycle length varies by brand, typically repeating every 10-30 meters.

Printing Tips
- Print at 200-210°C to keep color boundaries crisp; overheating causes colors to bleed at transition zones.
- Taller prints show more color bands — scale models vertically if you want to display the full gradient.
- Use vase mode for the smoothest color transitions; solid infill creates random color mixing in the interior that bleeds through thin walls.
- Plan your Z-height to align interesting color transitions with prominent features of the model.
- Avoid multi-part prints from the same spool if you need color matching — each segment starts at a different point in the cycle.
