Wood-fill PLA
IntermediateWood Fiber Composite PLA
A composite filament blending PLA with real wood particles (~30% wood fiber). Prints look, feel, and smell like real wood. Parts can be sanded, stained, and finished just like wood. Temperature controls the color — lower temps produce lighter tones, higher temps create darker finishes.
Nozzle Temp180–220°C
Bed Temp40–60°C
Print Speed30–50 mm/s
Printing Tips
- Use a 0.6mm nozzle minimum — wood particles clog 0.4mm nozzles within a few hours of printing.
- Vary nozzle temperature between layers (190-210°C) to create natural-looking wood grain color variation.
- Never leave wood filament sitting hot in the nozzle — the wood particles char and create permanent clogs.
- Sand with 150-grit, then 220-grit for a smooth finish. Apply wood stain for an incredibly realistic look.
- Print at 30-40 mm/s for the best surface quality. Higher speeds cause poor layer adhesion with wood composites.
