About Silk PLA

Silk PLA is a specialty filament that produces a beautiful glossy, metallic-like sheen on printed parts. It is one of the most visually stunning filaments available and is extremely popular for vases, decorative models, and display pieces. Silk PLA is based on PLA, so it is easy to print, but it requires slightly higher temperatures and slower speeds to achieve the best surface finish. The trade-off for its beauty is reduced mechanical strength compared to standard PLA.
