Mechanical Breakaway Support Material

A dedicated support filament engineered to peel away cleanly from the model with minimal force and no water bath. Breakaway support materials bond loosely to common filaments like PLA, PETG, and ABS, leaving a clean surface without the wait time of soluble supports.

Printing Tips

  • Set the support Z-distance to 0.1-0.15 mm in your slicer for easy removal without sacrificing support effectiveness.
  • Breakaway works best with 2-3 interface layers — too many layers makes removal difficult, too few causes poor surface quality.
  • Use pliers or a flat screwdriver to initiate the peel; once started, the support strips off in clean sheets.
  • Print at the same speed as your model material — breakaway filaments are designed to match PLA/PETG flow rates.
  • Breakaway is faster than soluble supports since there is no dissolution wait time — ideal for production workflows.
