BVOH at a Glance

Strengths

  • Water-soluble support material
  • Dissolves faster than PVA (2-4 hours)
  • Works with wider range of build materials
  • Leaves very clean supported surfaces

Weaknesses

  • Extremely moisture sensitive — use immediately after opening
  • More expensive than PVA
  • Must store in sealed dry container
  • Limited shelf life once opened
