BVOH
BeginnerButenediol Vinyl Alcohol Co-polymer
A water-soluble support material that dissolves completely in warm tap water without any chemicals. BVOH is compatible with a wider range of build materials than PVA and dissolves faster, making it the easiest option for dual-extrusion support structures on complex geometries.
Nozzle Temp190–220°C
Bed Temp50–60°C
Print Speed20–40 mm/s
Printing Tips
- Store BVOH in a sealed dry box with desiccant at all times — it absorbs moisture from the air within hours.
- Dissolve supports in warm water (40-50°C) with gentle agitation; a magnetic stirrer speeds it up significantly.
- BVOH is compatible with PLA, PETG, TPU, and nylon — it has wider compatibility than PVA supports.
- Use an interface of 2-3 layers between the model and BVOH support for a cleaner surface finish.
- Keep the BVOH nozzle primed with a purge tower to prevent clogging from moisture absorption during idle time.
