Metal-fill PLA
IntermediateMetal Particle Composite PLA
PLA infused with real metal particles (copper, bronze, or steel) that gives prints an authentic metallic weight and finish. Parts can be polished to a real metal sheen and develop natural patina over time. Significantly heavier than standard PLA.
Nozzle Temp195–220°C
Bed Temp50–60°C
Print Speed20–40 mm/s
Printing Tips
- Use a hardened steel nozzle — metal particles wear through brass nozzles in 1-2 prints.
- Print SLOWLY (20-30 mm/s). Metal-fill filament is abrasive and clogs easily at higher speeds.
- Polish prints with 400-800 grit wet sandpaper, then apply metal polish (Brasso works well) for a real metal look.
- Parts are 2-3x heavier than standard PLA — adjust infill accordingly and reinforce overhangs.
- Apply liver of sulfur solution to copper-fill prints for an authentic aged patina effect.
