Conductive PLA
IntermediateElectrically Conductive Polylactic Acid
A PLA composite loaded with carbon black or graphene particles that give printed parts measurable electrical conductivity. Conductive PLA is not a wire replacement — its resistance is high (typically 1-10 kohm/cm) — but it enables touch sensors, capacitive buttons, anti-static housings, and low-current circuit pathways directly in a 3D print.
טיפים להדפסה
- Use a hardened steel nozzle at 0.5 mm+ — carbon additives are mildly abrasive and clog small orifices.
- Print at 215-225°C for lowest resistance; under-heating creates poor particle contact between layers and raises resistance.
- Increase infill to 100% for conductive pathways — air gaps break the conductive particle chain.
- Measure resistance with a multimeter before relying on conductivity; values vary significantly between brands and print orientations.
- Conductivity is anisotropic: resistance along layer lines is lower than across layers — orient conductive paths in the X/Y plane.
- Do not mix conductive PLA with standard PLA in a multi-material setup without insulating barrier layers.
