Polycarbonate

Arguably the toughest non-flexible 3D printing filament. Polycarbonate offers heat resistance up to 150°C and can withstand repeated impacts without shattering. Requires the highest printing temperatures of any common filament and an all-metal hotend.

نصائح الطباعة

  • An all-metal hotend rated for 300°C+ is mandatory. PTFE-lined hotends will emit toxic fumes at PC temperatures.
  • Heat soak the enclosure for 10-15 minutes before starting a print to stabilize the chamber temperature.
  • Use Magigoo PC or a purpose-built PC adhesive on the bed — glue sticks are not strong enough.
  • Print the first 3-5 layers with zero fan, then use 10-15% max for the rest of the print.
  • PC is extremely sensitive to moisture — dry at 80°C for 10-12 hours and print from a dry box.
