PA6-CF blends chopped carbon fibers into a PA6 nylon matrix, delivering exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability that rivals CNC-machined metals in some applications. The carbon reinforcement reduces the warping tendency of plain PA6 while adding a matte, professional surface finish.

  • A hardened-steel nozzle (minimum 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm recommended) is mandatory — carbon fibers destroy brass nozzles within hours.
  • Dry at 80 °C for 12+ hours before printing; the PA6 base absorbs moisture aggressively and fibers amplify the effect on print quality.
  • Use a heated, enclosed chamber (50-60 °C) to prevent warping and maximize interlayer adhesion.
  • Set print speed to 25-35 mm/s for walls and 35-45 mm/s for infill to keep extrusion pressure consistent with the high-viscosity melt.
  • Avoid sharp retraction moves — keep retractions under 2 mm at low speed to prevent fiber jamming in the melt zone.
