Thermoplastic Elastomer

A broad category of rubber-like filaments that combine the processing ease of thermoplastics with the elasticity of vulcanized rubber. TPE filaments are softer than most TPU grades and offer excellent elongation, making them ideal for parts that must stretch repeatedly without tearing.

نصائح الطباعة

  • Direct-drive extruder is essential — Bowden tubes introduce too much compliance for TPE to feed reliably.
  • Print at the slowest speed your patience allows; 15 mm/s is a reliable starting point for most TPE blends.
  • Disable retraction completely and use coasting (0.2-0.4 mm) to reduce stringing instead.
  • Bed adhesion is tricky — use blue painter's tape or a thin coat of PVA glue stick on smooth surfaces.
  • Avoid supports if possible by orienting parts to minimize overhangs; TPE supports are nearly impossible to remove cleanly.
