Bed Adhesion
TPU 95A (Shore 95A) adheres well to most surfaces including PEI sheets, blue painter's tape, and glass with glue stick. Adhesion is rarely an issue — the flexibility helps it grip the bed.
Temperature Tuning Guide
Nozzle: 223°C
Range: 210-235°C. Printer max: 260°C.
- Poor layer adhesion? Increase +5°C
- Stringing or oozing? Decrease -5°C
- Print a temperature tower to find your exact sweet spot
Bed: 50°C
Range: 40-60°C. Printer max: 100°C.
- First layer lifting? Increase +5°C
- Elephant's foot? Decrease -5°C
- Let the bed fully preheat before starting
Troubleshooting TPU 95A on Voxelab Aquila
Pro Tips for TPU 95A
Shore 95A is the most common and easiest TPU to print -- start here if new to flexible filaments
Speed is everything: 20-40 mm/s maximum, slower for complex geometry
Minimize retraction (0.5-1mm direct drive) -- excessive retraction jams flexible filaments
Dry before use in humid climates; TPU is hygroscopic
Support Settings
For prints requiring supports with TPU 95A, use tree supports for easier removal and less scarring. Set a 0.15-0.2mm Z-distance between support and model. If you have a dual-extruder setup, consider PVA (for PLA/PETG) or HIPS (for ABS) as dedicated water/solvent-soluble support material.
