Demogorgons have a hive mind and are controlled by the Mind Flayer. Under his influence, they develop bloodlust, become extremely brutal and violent, with a limited thinking ability. Demogorgons, however, are quite intelligent creatures, with their intelligence rivalling that of humans. Once one of them fell into the hands of the boy named Dustin Henderson, one of the series’ protagonists. This allowed the boy and the viewers alike to witness all the stages of the Demogorgon’s development. This diorama represents these evolutionary stages, starting with a small dog-like creature and ending with a large humanoid monster that found a way to our world from the Upside Down.
