Shimano Cassette Lockring Tool (Road Bike)

In a pinch, this tool can be used to safely remove a Shimano style cassette lockring on a road bike. Use it once and throw away as the tool will be damaged by the 40N-m force applied to re-tighten the lockring. If the tool seems to fit snugly around the freewheel hub, as is sometimes the case, you can use a hammer to knock it into place.
