Heart Shaped Trinket Box

I designed and laser cut this heart shaped box for my Mum for Mothers Day back in 2013. It uses kerf bends / living hinges to bend the sides around the heart shape. Designed for 3mm plywood though the whole design can likely be scaled to suit other thicknesses of materials. Add your own text to the top and bottom surfaces for a personal touch. The Lid is held closed by the fit of the cut-out which is glued to the underside of the lid top (see fourth photo). Alternatively magnets could be hidden inside the box and a thin metal plate bonded to the lid to hold it closed.
